Half-Day Workshop: $90

About this session: We live in a data-driven world. Every sector – from retail and communications to agriculture and transportation – is powered by data. The nonprofit sector is no different. Today, nonprofit organizations generate and have access to more data than most know what to do with. In this session, we will use Giving USA data to provide a thorough understanding of fundraising in the U.S. We will then focus on which data metrics are critical for every fundraising professional to master for his/her organization. Finally, we will teach you how to apply those metrics to real-world strategic development planning.

Who Should Participate: Development and Fundraising Staff

About the Presenter:   Sharon Tiknis Executive Vice President East Division Manager, The Alford Group

Sharon has held leadership positions in the nonprofit sector for 35 years, developing distinguished philanthropic programs and assembling influential volunteer leadership teams to build organizational capacity.  Her work as an executive and serving as a consultant has resulted in raising hundreds of millions of dollars to meet community needs through philanthropic initiatives.

Having worked previously with The Alford Group, Sharon returned to the firm in 2014. Prior to her return, she worked with Children’s Home + Aid, spearheading a campaign that reached 50% of its $58.5 million goal in the first 18 months, and the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, where she led the organizational transition to a philanthropically centered, mission-driven educational nonprofit. She has also worked with the Tony Award winning Alley Theater in Houston, the Honolulu Museum of Arts, and the College of Communication and Fine Arts at Central Michigan University. Her expertise spans all sectors of the nonprofit industry, focused primarily on organizational change management to drive results, major gifts, campaigns, performance based organizational assessments and strategic planning.
